Following extensive polling of views and discussion with CCC members and supporters, the CCC Coordinating Action Group, under my chairmanship, began a review of the strategy and development for CCC moving forward. At the heart of this was ensuring sustainability of the Club, increase player participation and ensure enjoyment of the sport we all love. These are and will remain our core values. CCC has enjoyed a great tenure in the Cherwell League, but CCC members were unanimous - the distances to be travelled for matches and the 100 over format was increasingly a challenge for players and their families. If the sport ceases to be fun, then action has to be taken to re-set the Club to ensure we deliver on our mission, to be a fun club providing cricket for all - men, women, girls and boys! Therefore, we applied to join the Four Counties League and were successfully elected into the Four Counties League for the 2019 season. What does this mean for our members? We will have a 1st and 2nd team in the League ensuring a competitive cricket experience and a pathway for young and new players. We will be playing a shorter 40 Over format. We will have significant less travel commitments. We will continue to participate in the midweek Last Man Standing, we will continue to invest in our great ground and we will continue to provide top class coaching for all categories. We will also up our game on social activities - building our Club as a great place to play cricket and a safe place to make friends and have fun! Lets get the game on!
