Safeguarding

Safeguarding Policy Statement

Cublington Cricket Club is committed to ensuring everyone participating in cricket does so in a safe, friendly, secure, and enjoyable environment. Everyone at the club, whether as a player, coach, official, administrator, staff member, volunteer, spectator, parent, or carer has a role to play. Individually and collectively, it is our actions, both on and off the field which can help create a positive and inclusive culture. Click here to read our Safeguarding Policy Statement in full.

Report a Concern

It is essential that any safeguarding concern, however significant it appears, is reported to the Club Safeguarding Officer:

If you do not wish to contact the Club Safeguarding Officer first, you can report your concerns directly to The Cricket Regulator.

Policy and Procedure

Cublington Cricket Club has formally adopted the ECB’s Safe Hands Policy and guidance as part of our constitution, which means that all of the policies, guidance and regulations included in the Safeguarding Kit Bag Resources apply. In addition to these, Cublington Cricket Club has adopted the following policies and procedures:

Codes of Conduct

Cublington Cricket Club expects the highest standards of behaviour from its members. The following codes of conduct apply to anyone engaging with the club's activities:

In addition to these codes of conduct, Cublington Cricket Club has agreed to adopt and enforce the ECB Anti-Discrimination Regulations and comply with the obligations and disciplinary process set out under the ECB General Conduct Regulations for Recreational Cricket and the ECB Recreational Conduct Regulations.

Discipline

Breaches of club policies and codes of conduct are taken seriously. Members are encouraged to report any failure to comply with club rules to the Coordinating Action Group.

Training

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility, so whatever your role in cricket, everyone should understand the importance of keeping children, young people and adults safe.

With this in mind, Cublington Cricket Club encourages everyone to complete the ECB online Introduction to safeguarding. The training provides basic knowledge and advice in creating a safe cricket environment for everyone, recognising signs of abuse, what to do if you have any concerns or if you are approached by anyone with concerns that they may have.

This training should take around 30 minutes to complete and is accessible on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. You can access this training by clicking here.
