Cubs U13s won the toss and put Horspath in to bat. What a difference a week makes. The bowling attack this week was like night and day in comparison to lask week’s victory and the sun definitely shone tonight even though the jumpers were out. Even with a few missed chances in the field and some hard hitting from one Horspath batsman, we managed to restrict them to 104 in 20 overs. The bowling was well disciplined and the fielding sharp, including a run out. Half time and with the Cubs facing a target of 105 the match was very much in the balance. However, a nervous start to our innings with the loss of 3 early wickets and with us falling behind the required run rate gave Horspath the scent of victory. Order was restored with a well constructed 30 from Rhys batting at 3 which provided the foundation for what followed as the balance shifted in the Cubs favour. In strolled our middle order which saw our run rate increase thanks to some good batting from Adam, Daniel, Will and Michael. We eventually reach the target in the 18th over securing victory by 4 wickets. Congratulations boys, it was really pleasing to some really good cricket. Upwards and onwards!
