The long road to Lords is still on!

Round one of the National Village Knockout saw the Cubs take on Kimble at Orchard Ground. A mix of 1st XI players mixed with some young guns set about the task. Batting first the Rodnight brothers opened up, Will coming and going early while jack got stuck in. Batsmen came and went but Jack Rodnight built a superb innings; batting cautiously early on he hit four 6's on his way to the innings top score of 63. Around him Inglis (21), Darling (25) and Coote (58) batted well to get the Cubs up to 230 after our 40 overs.

A strong start was needed to the second innings and Darling got a couple of early wickets while Kimble looked to keep the run rate high. Richards too scored with (58) before Jack Rodnight, this time with the ball, cleared him up bowled. From then Kimble were always behind, Rose (24) and Skeggs (20) kept the game alive but more wickets for Darling who finished with 5-36 won the game convincingly for Cublington by 46 runs.

Two great performances from Tom Darling and Jack Rodnight, second round on Sunday 29th at home to Bledlow!
