Cublington Cricket Club
Welcome! Cublington Cricket Club

Cricket has been played in Cublington for over 140 years with the club as it is today founded in 1955. In 1997 a new pavilion was built with assistance from the Lottery and this wonderful facility is the home of cricket, tennis and local community events. It was extended to include a fabulous scorebox in 2005.

Until the late 90’s friendly fixtures were played on Saturdays or Sundays and it was not uncommon for the Captain to be found scouring the village to try and find a full compliment of players around lunchtime on the day of the match.

The decline of village friendly cricket led to the formation in 1998 of a small group of people from a cross section of club members, who looked at all aspects of the club and created a ‘Vision’ for cricket in Cublington.

Since then the club has been transformed and energised by the introduction of Action groups for the key areas of activity. On the playing side Junior teams (U9 to U17), Saturday League cricket, Mid week League cricket, qualified coaches, umpires and scorers have all been introduced.

The ground and facilities are continuously improving. At the end of the 2007 season our square was refurbished/relaid thanks to an ECB/CCDF. In all in the period 2005-2007 we have been recipients of over £60,000 of different grant money.

We have an excellent relationship with the Bucks County Cricket Board, with representation on the board and in all County competitions.

Cricket in Cublington is based on 4 cores values:

  • Youth development
  • Community
  • Sustainability
  • Enjoyment

We welcome all types of new members and do hope you enjoy visiting this website and our club.

CCC narrowly miss out on 'Club of the Year' award Posted by Nick Talbot on 30/11/2009 at 08:50
On Friday 27th November 2009 Robin Harrhy and Ben Sim attended the Bucks Sport presentation evening at Horwood House hotel on behalf of the cricket club who had been nominated and short listed in the Club of the Year category. The club narrowly lost out and were runners up to local cycling club Team Milton Keynes. Despite this it was a great honour for our club and reflects all the hard work by our many volunteers who help to make Cublington CC so successful. Well done to everyone.

Cublington Crown Campaign with County Cup win! Posted by Steve George on 13/09/2009 at 18:40
Cublington claimed the Bucks County Challenge Cup trophy with a fine team performance at High Wycombe CC against old rivals Winchmore Hill. Batting first, Cublington started well, faltered, came back strongly and then finished their innings with a flourish setting a competitive total of 204-6. Bill Burton (75) Pip Webb (51) and Steve George (28*) making the main contributions. After a nervous start, Howard Sayers, Adam Goldberg, Greg Jenkins and the indominatable Steve Godfrey, then put the brakes on and took wickets steadily. With 4 overs to go Winchmore Hill needed 32 with 3 wickets remaining, but were skittled by an inspired (and 2 stone lighter) Godfrey, eventually falling 27 runs short. The acting skipper Adam Goldberg accepted the trophy from BCB Secretary Martin Watts, together with a cheque to the club for £500 as winners. A fitting end to a great season!
'Most successful season ever' draws to a close Posted by Steve George on 10/09/2009 at 16:59
It started with the Junior teams, who by the end of July had brought home ADL trophies at U8, U9, U15 and U17 age groups. Our U10's reached the County semi final and the U11 and U13's performed well. Then our senior midweek side finished runners up in both the ADL midweek league and cup. Our second team won Div 4 of the FCCL with a game to spare and the 1st X1 finished higher than ever before (4th) in Div 1 of the FCCL. The Sunday side have won 11 out of 14 matches so far and our Sunday Cup side play against Winchmore Hill in the Final of the Bucks Challenge cup on 13 September at High Wycombe CC.
Its been a memorable season for the club and we hope to finish on a high in the final. It's a 12.30 start and all support would be most welcome.

Some great individual and team performances will be celebrated at our annual dinner on Saturday November 28th at The Unicorn
CUBLINGTON DO IT AGAIN! Posted by Nick Talbot on 04/08/2009 at 16:17
Cublington juniors continued their winning season with the Under 8's winning the Junior Kwik crickest festival at Buckingham Town on Sunday. In the first of four summer tournaments organised by the Bucks Cricket Board, Cublington were victorious in all their group matches against Buckingham, Stony Stratford & Tring and then went onto victory in the final against Buckingham, with Cublington scoring 247 and Buckingham making 208 in reply. The squad of 10 players performed brilliantly in all the matches with the newcomers Adam Bromiley, Ryan Bullock and Dominic Boyd all playing well in thier first matches. All the team performed really well, but Tom Carter with the bat and Marcus Critchley with the ball were the outstanding performers of the day as they propelled the team to win the trophy.
It has been a great season for the Cublington U9's and U8's and the team is already looking forward to summer 2010!
