Cublington Cricket Club welcomes Junaid Allie as a coach and amateur Player

Welcome Junaid!

A warm CCC welcome to Junaid Allie who has joined the Club as coach and amateur player this season. Junaid Allie (21) is a promising opening batsman / wicket-keeper playing for the strong Western Province Cricket Club in Cape Town. He has played for the club since the age of 14, representing all the age groups ‘A’ sides and captaining the Under-19’s in 2013/14.

Originally a batsman/seamer, he donned the gloves a few years ago and hasn’t looked back. He has been a 3rd XI stand-out in recent seasons, but has played his fair share of 2nd XI fixtures with success, to include a highest score of 86, whilst on debut in 2014.

Second leading run-scorer in the latter). He struck the most fifties (5) and hundreds (3) in the 3rd XI last summer. The previous year, Allie played in a WPCC combined XI against the touring Northern Knights from Ireland and struck a brilliant 136*, against a side including numerous Inter Provincial players.

A former Wynberg Boys’ Junior and High School pupil, Junaid has excelled in the Indoor version of the game, representing Western Province throughout the age-groups and into senior level,working under the tutelage of former first-class player Rasheed Lewis.

Junaid has also represented South Africa in Karate, spending two months in Tokyo competing. Junaid is happy to provide coaching in Karate. CCC members can avail of 1:1 cricket coaching with Junaid –
