A proper Sunday match. Cubs fielded a mixed side of juniors, old Sunday hands and first teamers (and Borch). Cubs won the toss and batted. Borch and KGS opened and batted very selfishly to record 106 (retired) and 96 (jug avoidance) respectively. APW smashed a beligerent half century and the team set Ballinger a huge 307.
Charlie Crisp set Cubs off to a great start with a run out and wicket in his first couple of overs while Boo Gammell was the pick of the bowling with 7 overs for 29 runs and one wicket. Ballinger fought hard and put on a huge fourth wicket partnership but determined bowling and fielding saw Cubs to a narrow four run victory. Sunday cricket at its best.
