Thanks Stuey Bridgen for dropping out at the last minute! We travelled with nine and roped in John Monday's other half Lisa but the lost Harvey when he was hit on the foot while 'wicket-keeping' and Lisa had to go home to put the supper on. (No such things as pink jobs and blue jobs, John.) Mark Ablen spanked our bowling to all parts and then thankfully retired on103. Pete and Oscar Williams (of this parish, but only on a Saturday) both hit runs, as did Danny Job, but Jack Gotzheim stood up at the end and finished with his first senior five-fer, including four wickets in five balls. Good job his parents turned up to watch.
Our batting was hampered by a lack of players, and, initially, Alex Howe's lack of box. No-one was prepared to lend him one so he took guard somewhere near square leg and was duly out for a duck. Gunning and Gadsby added 82 for the second wicket but when Gadsby was out the rest of the batting subsided to leave the Cubs all out for 100.
