In the skipper's absence CCC's Sunday XI was led by Ollie Fairhurst away to Hyde Heath. In a win/lose draw game CCC batted first. The skipper batted himself at three (rank has its privileges) and gave a great imitation of Bainesy scratching eight runs off 29 balls, although the master, the Great Baino himself took 39 balls to amass the same score. Luckily Vabs rolled along at a run a ball to 71 and Ketan blasted 62 off 44. 190 for six.
In reply Freddie Perkins took three and Borch four but Hyde Heath survived with nine down at close. Looked like a pretty tense game.
